The Linkage
The Building is a new home for three distinguished cultural groups representing Gyeongsangbuk-do: traditional Korean music, a symphony orchestra, and a dance performance. Previously operated in separate locations, these three arts organizations will now operate together in one space. In this context, we have focused on improving rehearsal spaces to meet the needs of these arts groups, anticipating the future performing arts environment. We also aimed to foster harmony with the local community and promote synergy between the facilities through architectural possibilities.
Each facility for the arts groups is designed as a platform optimized for their respective needs, accommodating various formats of archiving, creation, and practice. These platforms are intended to work together seamlessly, creating an environment where they complement each other organically. The building's exterior, which visualizes the dynamics of sound and rhythm, reflects the people who create music and art, making music itself the façade and a new symbol of Gyeongsangbuk-do.
